“Resolution in Support of Gender-Inclusive Policies and Practices throughout California State Polytechnic University, Pomona”

This resolution was authored by Cameron Pastrano, ASI C.L.A.S.S. Senator (2017-2018), Gustavo Callejas, ASI Secretary of External Affairs (2017-2018) and Athena Garcia-Gunn, ASI Assistant Secretary of Civic Engagement (2017-2018). This resolution was sponsored by ASI Governmental Affairs Committee of 2017-2018.

This resolution promotes gender equity, human rights, and basic accommodations for the LBGTQ+ and non-binary population of Cal Poly Pomona.

The resolution resolves:

  • Recognizes a third, non-binary gender identity

  • Commits to updating all internal organizational policies and procedures to be gender-inclusive

  • Requires ASI administrators, staff and student leaders to atted Safe-Zone Ally Training

  • Encourages the Cal Poly Pomona administration to extend Safe-Zone Ally Training to all administrators, faculty and staff

  • Requires that any and all of the organization’s current and future operated facilities be gender-inclusive

  • Encourages Cal Poly Pomona to further ensure all current and future University operated facilities to be gender-inclusive
